Give the potters wheel a spin during our one-time, crash course on throwing on the wheel! Then, return to glaze your work a few weeks later. Ages 9 all the way to 99 are welcome!

This class is structured for those who have little to no experience on the pottery wheel. Although structured for beginners, all levels are welcome.

+ the event flow
We will start off with a quick intro and demo so we can get to know our group and the basic steps of throwing a clay piece on the wheel. From there we will spend the majority of our time practicing each step together as a group (watching the clay fly, flop, and hopefully become a thing!) And BOOM, you have made your first piece! If time allows, there will be opportunity to apply what you have learned and make a second piece all on your own!

+ what you will make
The fact is, ceramics is a craft. It takes a lot of practice to get to the level of what we see on those trendy tik-tok videos or TV shows. What you make during this event will vary from person to person but a small bowl, cup, or vase are common outcoms. They may be a bit ‘organic’ or ‘perfectly imperfect’ for your first go but, gosh darn it, you made a thing and that’s a success all on it’s own!

Studio Policy :

Cost covers all material, instructor fee, and firing of one piece of pottery. If more than one piece is made during the class, it can be fired for an additional fee of $10 per extra piece.
