Clay Handbuilding 101 CAMP

  • OUTSIDE the BOX 43 North West Street Bellbrook, OH, 45305 United States (map)

THIS IS A 3 DAY CAMP!

Have a teen that loves the arts and has always wanted to work in clay? During our Clay Handbuilding camp we will learn the basics of building in clay and apply them to make both functional and sculptural works.

Teen Translation: We will slay the clay! No cap, it’ll be fire! (Literally)

+ what we’ll do during camp:
Day 1: Intro to clay & ceramic process; pinch, coil, hard & soft slab
Day 2: Intro to sculptural clay building; armatures, working from solid to hollow
Day 3: Pick your own project and apply what we have learned

+ info for the grown-ups:
- Drop-off no earlier than 9:55
- Please have your teens bring a snack each day, we will have a break each class
- Camp artwork will need to be fired and will be ready for pick up 3-4 weeks from end of camp. There will be a soft “follow-up” class date sent out by email for those wanting to glaze their work. (Glazing is not required but is a free bonus project they can do in the studio after their pieces have been fired.)
