• There are approx 6-10 dip buckets, please ensure lids are fully closed after using (jump on them!!)
• We have a rotating 10-15 brush on glazes that change every few months for general studio use
• Studio glazes may occasionally be discontinued. Please be aware that this could affect results from one project to the next.
• Please inform studio staff if a studio glaze bucket is empty or low.
• Avoid cross contamination by washing tools between each glaze use
• Outside glaze is permitted but ONLY after you have done the following:
— You approve your desired glaze with ceramic instructor
— You fire a small test tile to the cone of your glaze at least once before applying to your work
• No work will be fired with glaze still on the bottom, (Please follow the glazing guidelines found in the “Big Book of Everything” PDF).
• We fire two different glaze loads at the studio. Please place your work on the appropriate shelves. We are not liable for any accidents due to misplaced or misfired glaze works. (When in doubt, leave a note on which firing!)
• KILN SHELF REPLACEMENT FEE: If any dripping or fusing of glaze on our kiln shelves occur due to over glazing, dipping, lack of cleaning the bottom of work or using un approved or untested glazing, you will be charged the following:
— $10 for a small drip or “kiss” on a half shelf
— $25 for a full fuse on a half shelf
— $50+ for drips on soft brick, elements, thermal coupler, or extensive damage to the kiln
• Studio black wire drying shelves are not a storage space. Please pick up your pieces as they finish.
• Any work left untouched for more than 6 weeks (or after your membership expires) may be donated, trashed, or recycled.
